Droplet plume emission during plasmonic bubble growth in ternary liquids

چکیده

Plasmonic bubbles are of great relevance in numerous applications, including catalytic reactions, micro/nanomanipulation molecules or particles dispersed liquids, and cancer therapeutics. So far, studies have been focused on bubble nucleation pure liquids. Here we investigate plasmonic ternary liquids consisting ethanol, water, trans-anethole oil, which can show the so-called ouzo effect. We find that oil (trans-anethole) droplet plumes produced around growing bubbles. The microdroplets their organization is due to symmetry breaking ethanol concentration field during selective evaporation from surrounding into Numerical simulations existence a critical Marangoni number Ma (the ratio between solutal advection rate diffusion rate), above occurs, leading emission plumes. numerical results agree with experimental observation more emitted increasing ethanol-water relative weight ratios hence Ma. Our findings plume formation reveal rich phenomena multicomponent help pave way achieve enhanced mixing chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic industries.

Plasma line emission during single-bubble cavitation.

Emission lines from transitions between high-energy states of noble-gas atoms (Ne, Ar, Kr, and Xe) and ions (Ar(+), Kr(+), and Xe(+)) formed and excited during single-bubble cavitation in sulfuric acid are reported. The excited states responsible for these emission lines range 8.3 eV (for Xe) to 37.1 eV (for Ar(+)) above the respective ground states. Observation of emission lines allows for ide...

Modelling bubble clusters in compressible liquids

We present a new model for bubbly cavitating flows. Based on volume-averaged equations, a subgrid model is added to account for a bubble, or multiple bubbles, within each computational cell. The model converges to the solution of ensembleaveraged bubbly flow equations for weak oscillations and monodisperse systems. In the other extreme, it also converges to the theoretical solution for a single...

Factors affecting bubble size in ionic liquids.

This study reports on understanding the formation of bubbles in ionic liquids (ILs), with a view to utilising ILs more efficiently in gas capture processes. In particular, the impact of the IL structure on the bubble sizes obtained has been determined in order to obtain design principles for the ionic liquids utilised. 11 ILs were used in this study with a range of physico-chemical properties i...

Cosmological Hii Bubble Growth during Reionization

We present general properties of ionized hydrogen (HII) bubbles and their growth based on a stateof-the-art large-scale (100 Mpc/h) cosmological radiative transfer simulation. The simulation resolves all halos with atomic cooling at the relevant redshifts and simultaneously performs radiative transfer and dynamical evolution of structure formation. Our major conclusions include: (1) for signifi...
